The August 2010 line-up:

JIM REED – Another one of those obscure outlaws. But, his wife wasn’t obscure

GEORGE DAVIDSON – When George was in Alaska a total eclipse took place. It saved his life.

RED JACK GANG – Outlaws dressed in a wide variety of costumes, but the leader of the Red Jack Gang was the only one that we are aware of dressing in drag.

FLORENCE STAGE ROBBERY I & II – There were thousands of stage robberies in the Old West, but for just plain stupidly, there was none that matched the outlaws in this robbery.

BIDDY MASON – Overcoming obstacles was a trait of people who came out west. But, no on overcame more serious obstacles than Biddy Mason.

JOAQUIN MURIETA I & II – The story of California’s most famous outlaw is much like many other Old West outlaw stories, it’s hard to separate the fact from fiction.

TOM HODGES – Dr. Hodges decided to come to California to work the gold fields. It didn’t work out, so he became outlaw Tom Bell.

MARK TWAIN’S STAGE RIDE – Stage travel was rough at best. And, even though Mark Twain was known for exaggerating, his writing about his stage ride was probably accurate.

JOHN CHILDERS – When John Childers was hanged, some say God spoke. We’re just not sure what He said.

WILLIAM AVERILL COMSTOCK – Comstock was the prototypical military scout. He was able to understand and get along with Indians, but he had a secret past.

JAMES BIRCH – Everyone who came to the gold fields didn’t become wealthy panning gold. As with James Birch, some became wealthy taking care of the needs of those who panned gold.

BRUL SIOUX INCIDENT – This incident involving a dieing ox, escalated way beyond proportion, resulting in the deaths of many people.

WILLIAM WHITNEY BRAZLETON – Outlaw Brazleton didn’t become famous until after his death, and in a very strange way.

NEWTON, KANSAS MASSACRE – An Old West saying says that a man should kill his own snakes. In Newton, Kansas a number of snakes were killed.

ED CRAWFORD – Old West lawmen were either fired by the mayor or fired upon by the outlaws. Both happened to Ed Crawford.

GAMBLER JIM BOWIE – Jim Bowie steps in to help a young man who was cheated out of money by riverboat gamblers. The interesting part of the story is how Jim did it.

WILLIAM JOHNSON – In-laws can sometimes be a pain. But, none was as bad as those of William Johnson.

LAWMAN OR OUTLAW? – Sometimes in the Old West you couldn’t tell the outlaws from the lawmen. James Brown Miller was a perfect example. (Picture is of James Brown Miller)

BILL DOOLIN – Like many a college student today, Bill Doolin attended a beer party. But this beer party resulted in Bill becoming an outlaw, and eventually dieing of twenty bullet wounds.

ELIZABETH ANN CLIFTON – Truly, it took strong women to survive in the Old West. And, Elizabeth Ann was as strong as they came.
