We went to the Chihuly Glass Show at the Phoenix Desert Gardens. It was just outstanding. Glass art was interspersed between the desert plants within the botanical gardens.

We got there in the afternoon and took a tour of the place. It was very impressive. Then when it got dark, the displays were lit up. Spectacular!

The end of last week and over the weekend we were at Festival of the West in Phoenix. Dakota did a slew of what he calls conversations…others call it interviews…before the event’s attendees.

The first picture is Dakota talking to three western actors at the celebrity stage.

He also did conversations at the Chronicle of the Old West stage. This second picture is his conversation with stuntman Buck Montgomery.

We’re traveling again…on our way to Phoenix and Festival of the West. Dakota will be having conversations before audiences and helping MC the main stage.

We had a lot of fun visiting our family and our weekly show regular Jim MacGregor and his wife Jodie.

While visiting our family we went to the grandkids’ basketball and baseball games. The pictures are of seven year old Quinn and her father just before she hit a grand slam homerun winning the game in the bottom of the ninth inning…or something like that.

A few days ago we had a great experience. We were given the Spirit of the Old West Alive award. This award is given by Wild West Gazette to people who have kept the spirit of the Old West alive.

The event started with a reception. The first picture is of some of our friends who attended the event. Then it was a mini “this is your life” as LeeAnn Sharpe talked to us about our experiences. Behind us was a screen showing pictures.

It was quite a privilege receiving this award.

Last weekend we attended Winter Range in Phoenix. It was a good event.

We’ll be receiving the Spirit of the Old West Award later this week, so we’re spending a few days in an RV park in north Phoenix.

Hot air balloons fly in the area, and sometimes actually land in the park. The picture is of one that came down close by. I’m sure you see Sunny among the people watching.
